Architecture as social performance.
I read buildings and objects the way one reads a sitter in a portrait: as deliberate self-fashioning. My MA at Sotheby's Institute of Art trained that instinct on the Vanderbilt mansions of Fifth Avenue, where a dynasty rehearsed its standing in limestone and gilt long before anyone called it taste.
The work moves between archival history, material culture, and exhibition concept development. Whether the subject is a Gilded Age facade or the Plumstead Hoard, the method holds: trace the object back to the people who staged it, then tell that story so a reader feels the room before they understand the argument.
